Sweet Italian Sausage & Pepper Rigatoni

Pasta night is a regular must have in my household and I am always trying to spice it up and find new ways to have fun with it. I decided to give this recipe a try. Sweet Italian sausage is a staple for a great pasta night. Check out the recipe below!

Sweet Italian Sausage & Pepper Rigatoni

Ingredients:

  • 16oz of Rigatoni Pasta

  • 2 24oz Jars of Pasta Sauce

  • 18oz of Sweet Italian Sausage ( diced, I cut mine with meat scissors)

  • 1/2 Cup of Diced Green Peppers

  • 1/2 Cup of Diced Sweet Onions

  • 2 Tablespoons of Balsamic Vinaigrette

  • Seasonings

    • 2 Tablespoons of Basil (fresh or dried)

    • 2 Tablespoons of Oregano

    • 2 Tablespoon of Garlic Powder

    • 2 Tablespoons of Onion Powder

    • 2 Tablespoons of Abodo

    • 1 Tablespoon of Sugar

Instructions:

  1. Boil pasta based on box instructions.

  2. Once you have cut the sausages to your preferred size, put balsamic vinaigrette in a pan and heat to medium/high. Add sausage, diced onions, and green peppers. Once these ingredients are in the pan, add 1 tablespoon of each ingredient, minus the sugar, to the meat mixture.

  3. Brown sausage mixture until meat is thoroughly cooked.

  4. Once meat is cooked add pasta sauce and stir in the remaining seasonings plus sugar to cut the acidity of the sauce.

  5. Plate your sauce over your cooked pasta and enjoy!

* I like to top with fresh basil and cheese, usually mozzarella or some kind of Italian blend!
